Metropolitan Area Commuter System (MACS) Transit
The Fairbanks North Star Borough’s fixed-route bus system. The system also serves North Pole, Farmers Loop, and the Fairbanks International Airport, operating eight routes and traveling approximately 500,000 miles every year.
All MACS Transit buses are fully accessible, with low floors and ramp access on every MACS Transit bus. Voice announcements and a reader board convey stop locations. Priority seating for senior citizens and individuals with disabilities

MACS Token Vending Machines are located at select locations: Fred Meyer West, Transit Center, Explore Fairbanks Visitor Center, UAF Wood Center, and the North Pole Mall.

Van Tran
Van Tran paratransit service of the Fairbanks North Star Borough to provide transportation to people whose physical, cognitive, or sensory disabilities prevent them from using the Metropolitan Area Commuter System (MACS), the fixed-route bus system. Eligibility is based on the applicant’s functional capabilities.

Interior Alaska Bus Line
Interior Alaska Bus Line is a non-profit corporation providing transportation from Anchorage to Tok on the Glenn Highway and from Fairbanks to Tok on the Richardson Highway, traveling every Monday, Wednesday & Friday year-round. Buses are accessible to individuals with disabilities, including priority seating and equipped with wheelchair lifts. Discounts are available for veterans, active-duty military, and first responders.
