HIDEOUT Program from FBSB Parks & Rec
2010 2nd Avenue, Fairbanks
The Hideout is a safe place for preteens to hang out after school. They can enjoy ping pong, foosball, arts & crafts, a Nintendo Switch, homework stations, and more.  Parents or guardians must have a signed waiver on file for each participant. 
Not available to drop off your kid at the Hideout? No worries! You can submit a bus deviation to your school bus and ask them to drop off your child at the Carlson Center for the Hideout.  3 -7 PM most Mondays – Thursdays.  Drop-in fee: $4/youth (9-13 years old).   Passes are also available.

Big Brothers Big Sisters

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska creates and supports one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.  We match volunteer adult mentors called Bigs with youth, ages 6 to 16 who are called Littles.  Bigs and their Littles get together 2-4 times a month for a minimum of one year.  Together, they do free or low-cost activities in the community.  BBBSAK is there to support our Bigs, Parents/Guardians, and Littles throughout the lifetime of the match.

We seek to empower our youth who may be facing barriers to employment by providing work experience, training and educational opportunities designed to foster real-world work skills. In-school and out-of-school youth may be eligible for certain opportunities.  Programs include educational opportunities, Healthy Transitions to assist teens transition into adulthood, opportunities for youth delegates, Get Driving program to help obtain a driver’s license, and an array of work experience opportunities for youth in Fairbanks and in the villages.

Literacy Council of Alaska

The Literacy Council of Alaska (LCA) offers the Pathways Program, which assists participants in accomplishing education and career goals by aiding them in creating a personal plan to stay on track. The Door Emergency Youth Shelter
138 10th Ave., Fairbanks
The Door provides kids aged 12-18 a safe place to sleep, home cooked meals, clothing, supplies, and connections to community resources to help youth find stability. We are licensed by the State of Alaska as an Emergency Shelter for runaway and homeless youth, housing up to 12 kids. We serve nutritional meals that meet national guidelines, and we are committed to promoting health in all its forms.
