Alaska State Commission for Human Rights
The Alaska State Commission for Human Rights is the state agency that enforces the Alaska Human Rights Law, AS 18.80, with the mission of eliminating and preventing discrimination for all Alaskans.  The Commission has statewide powers and accepts and investigates complaints from individuals across all regions of the state.

Alaska Department of Law
The Department of Law is part of the executive branch of Alaska state government.  The Consumer Protection Unit of the Attorney General’s Office investigates unfair or deceptive business practices and files legal actions on behalf of the State of Alaska to stop such practices.  The Victim-Assistance program provides information to victims of a crime.  Resources to report Medicaid fraud and more.

Alaska Court System Self-Help: Represent Yourself
Many people represent themselves in court for a variety of reasons. Some cannot afford to pay lawyers and others believe that they can handle their case on their own. The Alaska Court System has information to help you represent yourself in some types of cases.  Many topics available, including housing, criminal cases, debt collection, domestic violence, small claims, traffic, and family law.

Offers a variety of free legal services.  Maintains a website with guides on civil legal services and resources for low-income persons and seniors in Alaska.  Operates a FREE Fair Housing Project eliminate housing discrimination and to ensure equal housing opportunity for all people in Alaska, with a Landlord-Tenant

The Disability Law Center of Alaska is an independent non-profit law firm providing legal advocacy for people with disabilities anywhere in Alaska.  Issues include Social Security applications, disability-related employment discrimination, Medicaid appeals, and access to appropriate Special Education programs.

Violent Crimes Compensation Board – Department of Public Safety 
Anchorage
Are you the victim of a violent crime?  Financial assistance may be available to help pay for your crime related expenses. The Violent Crimes Compensation Board provides limited financial help to victims. The financial loss has to be the direct result of a violent crime and not reimbursable through another source such as insurance or worker’s compensation. The maximum that may be awarded is $40,000.

Alaska Network on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (ANDVSA)
ANDVSA provides a legal information and referral hotline. The hotline allows survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking to receive basic legal information and referrals from volunteer attorneys over the telephone.

The Office of Elder Fraud and Assistance – State of Alaska
Anchorage
The mission of the office is to investigate claims regarding the financial exploitation of Alaskans 60 and older and seek civil remedies on behalf of elders unable to bring a complaint without assistance.
